A day in the life of Ellie Jo Biggs
Hello, back in July I had an audition for "The Voice Kids Uk". I met up with two lovely ladies who filmed me singing and asked me lots of questions. I wanted to keep this audition quiet in case I ruined my chances. So I apologise to all my family and friends for keeping secrets.
A couple of weeks went by and I received an email congratulating me and inviting me to attend a second audition on the 30th August 2016 at the Mecure Holland Hotel in Cardiff.
I was over the moon as I thought I wouldn't be called back! I tried my best not to get too excited as I still had to get past another stage. I spent many weeks rehearsing and practising my vocal scales.
The audition day finally arrived. I was very nervous about the audition but tried my best not to show it. Would they judge me on my looks? Would they judge me on my behaviour? What if they say I can't sing? all sorts of questions were running through my head! There were lots of other children attending and I'm sure they were just as nervous as me.
After registering, I sat in the holding room and they called my name out after about 30 minutes. I was taken upstairs into a room, told to stand on a cross on the floor. The two people asked me my name and a few other questions. They made me feel really comfortable. I was then asked to sing for them. I sang Adele's version of "Make you feel my love". Unfortunately, I didn't progress to the next stage.
I wasn't sad about not getting through to the next stage. Attending an audition like this is a good experience for me! I enjoyed every minute of it. Next time I will know what to expect and can prepare more.
